Southeast Washington & Oregon Loop
Southeast Washington State has some of the richest agricultural soil in the world; producing wheat, flax, barley, dry peas, lentils and other crops. The topography of the land requires unique farming practices. Walla Walla is being called the second Napa Valley for grape and wine production. The Rose City, Portland, features beautiful gardens and a thriving downtown.
A must see is the Oregon Coast with its sandy beaches and historic light houses. The picturesque Cascade Mountains are a part of the Ring of Fire extending along the west coast of North America. Sisters is a community with boutique shops and quilting stores and displays. Hood River on the mighty Columbia boasts to be the wind surfing capital of the world.
Finally, a visit to Maryhill Museum and The Toppenish Murals add a cultural flavor to the tour. Many of the Yakima Valley wineries started early on in the history of wine making in Washington State; the second largest wine producing state in the U.S.
